Roll width

A wider roll means fewer seams and often less length.

Protects the print against UV and scratches; recommended for printed vinyl.

Surface cleaner, edge primer and squeegee.

Advanced settings

Added to every panel edge for wrapping and overhang. Default 5 cm.

Overlap between strips when a panel wider than the roll is split. Default 2 cm.

Vinyl length for a sedan wrap

The short answer: about 18–20 metres of 152 cm roll for a full body wrap, windows excluded. On this page the tool opens with the sedan class and full body selected and, with default settings, gives 19.8 metres of printable cast vinyl plus the same length of laminate.

How it is calculated

  1. Panels: sides (2), bonnet, roof, boot lid and both bumpers, about 16.3 m² net.
  2. Edge allowance: 5 cm on every panel edge for wrapping and overhang.
  3. Roll layout: pieces are rotated to fit the roll width and placed along the roll, about 16.5 m without waste.
  4. Waste: 20% is added for full wraps with cast vinyl: 16.5 × 1.20 ≈ 19.8 m.

The result shows the roll layout, the panel list and the material list.

Same lot

Order all the vinyl for one vehicle at once and from the same production lot; colour and gloss can differ between lots. Mirrors, door shuts and spoilers are not included; increase the waste allowance if they are wrapped. Measure the vehicle before ordering.

Source: class sizes are estimated from the catalogue dimensions of a sample sedan; the range matches international wrap guides for 152 cm (60 in) rolls. The result is an approximate estimate.

Frequently asked questions

How much vinyl does a full sedan wrap need?

About 18–20 metres of 152 cm roll for a full body wrap without windows. With a 20% waste allowance the tool gives 19.8 metres on this page. Mirrors, door shuts and sills add more.

Does a 137 cm roll change the length?

On a sedan most panels also come out of a 137 cm roll in one piece, so the tool gives the same length for both widths in this class. Switch the roll width and compare the layout.

How much do I need for the sides only?

Both sides of a sedan need about 10.9 metres of 152 cm roll with a 15% waste allowance. Untick full body and select sides only.

How much laminate does a printed wrap need?

Laminate is calculated at the same length as the printed vinyl, 19.8 metres for a full sedan. Coloured cast vinyl needs no laminate.

Why buy vinyl from the same lot?

Shade and gloss can differ slightly between production batches and the difference shows on adjacent panels. Order all the vinyl for one vehicle at once, from the same lot.
