What this page calculates
The tool estimates the module count, total wattage, recommended power supply, feed lines and cable cross-section of a light box from its inside width, height and return depth.
Method
- Module spacing a = depth × spacing ratio, within the model’s limits (12 cm × 1.5 = 18 cm, capped at 15 cm).
- Module count = ⌈width ÷ a⌉ × ⌈height ÷ a⌉, plus 10% spares.
- Required PSU power = total power × 1.25; feed lines = ⌈count ÷ chain limit⌉.
Example: 200 × 100 cm, 12 cm depth
Grid 14 × 7 = 98 modules (108 with spares), 147 W, required PSU power about 184 W, so 1 × 200 W, with 5 feed lines.
The face material and the brightness you want change the count. The result is an estimate; have a qualified electrician make the connections.
