Power supplies are an indispensable source of supply for systems that differ by voltage and amperage. They are used in indoor advertising signs and wayfinding. Power supplies for signs mounted outdoors can also be used if they are installed so that they have no contact with water.
12 volt slim-case LED power supplies designed for indoor use reduce the 220 V mains voltage to the voltage and current values needed by LED products that run on 12 volts. Our product has a stable voltage output. The (L) and (N) terminals are the 220 V mains voltage inputs. (T) is earth, (V+) is the positive pole of the 12 volt output, and (V-) is the negative pole of the 12 volt output. The LED power supply and amperage must be chosen according to the number or length of the LED product to be used; otherwise your products may be damaged. For example, not using more than 80% of the capacity of a 12 volt 29 amp slim-case LED power supply will make your power supply last longer.

Frequently asked questions
How many amps does my LED power supply need?
Find the total LED power first: modules × module wattage, or strip metres × W/m. Use at most 80% of the power supply, so required power = total LED power × 1.25. For example, 56 modules of 1.5 W are 84 W; 84 × 1.25 = 105 W, so a 120 W (10 A) power supply is chosen. Current = power ÷ 12 V.
What is the 80% rule?
A power supply should not run at full capacity all the time; for heat and service life the load should stay below 80% of capacity. A 200 W unit takes at most 160 W of LEDs, a 400 W unit at most 320 W. Larger loads are split across several power supplies.
Can an indoor power supply be used outdoors?
Indoor units are IP20 and not protected against water. On an outdoor sign they may only go into a closed, ventilated compartment with no contact with water; otherwise choose an IP67 outdoor or rainproof power supply.
